TIRAU. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Tirau stock sale on Thursday there was a full yarding of all classes. Medium fat cows, £8 16s tb £9; light fat cows, £7 14s to £8 12s 6d; forward fat cows, £6 12s to £7 7s 6d; store fat cows, good, £5 Is to £6 6s; store fat cows, others, £3 15s to £4; steers, 2h-year, £7 to £9 2s 6d; steers, yearling, £4 Is to £4 18s; heifers, yearling Jersey and Jersey-cross, £5 14s to £7; heifers, Shorthorn and Jer-sey-cross, £4 17s to £6 2s; bulls, ser\ice, £9 to £lO 10s; bulls, potters, £6 to £8 ss. Dairy cows, good, in milk, £ll to £ls; dairy cows, in milk, £8 15s to £lO 10s; dairy cows, Jersey and Jersey cross, close to profit, £0 5s to £l4; dairy cows, more backward, £6 to £9. Pigs.—Slips, £1 3s to £1 ss; weaners, 12s 6d to 14s. MATAMATA. The following prices were realised at the weekly stock sale at Matamata conducted by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Company:— Beef Cattle.—There was a good yarding of all classes of stock, the demand being such as to maintain late rates. The competition was especially keen for 15-months’ heifers. Fat heifers, £lO to £ll 17s; fat cows, £lO 10s to £ll 7s 6d; medium fat cows, £8 17s 6d to £9 15s; lighter sorts, £7 6s to £8 Is; light fat heifers, £7 2s 6d to £7 15s; forward conditioned cows, £5 15s to £7 Is; cows just calved, £7 12s 6d to £9; store cows, £3 15s to £5 ss; good quality yearling Shorthorn steers, £7 10s; good quality 15-months’ Jersey-cross empty heifers, £5 to £5 14s; Shorthorn empty heifers, £3 18s to £5 15s; good quality 15-months’ Holstein empty heifers, £5 5s to £5 10s; bulls for service, £6 to £8 ss; bulls for export, heavy, £6 to £7 10s. Bobby calves, 10s to 13s.
Pigs.—Heavy baconers £2 18s to £3 Is, light £2 10s to £2 16s; heavy porkers £2 5s to £2 9s, light 39s to £2 4s, others 28s 6d to 365; slips 23s to 265; weaners 15s to £l, others 10s to 14s.
