TIRAU.
Mr. J. Pennington, of the Patetere third team, sustained a broken wrist in a match at Matamata and will be unable to attend to his duties in the Tirau post office for some weeks. Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Fitzgerald are e.way at present. Mr. and Mrs. J. Corcoran are on holiday in Auckland. Annual Dance. The Tennis Club is holding its annual dance and presentation of prizes on Tuesday week. This is a function which is being looked forward to by dancers throughout the district. Golf. The medal round at the Okoroire links on Saturday was won by A. Gray. Pedigree Jerseys. On a recent visit to Taranaki Mr. F. Rose purchased pedigree Jersey stock which should prove an acquisition to the district. Most of the 27 animals acquired are young, with good records behind them, and are in calf to fashionable bulls. K.C.8., Lord Twylish, Roberts and* Campanile Sultan blood is predominant. The cattle will be sent out to Messrs. Rose and Rutledge’s farm, which it is intended shall become a stud Jersey farm.
