TENNIS.

ROTORUA v. WAIKATO EAST. The above match, played at Rotorua, on Saturday, resulted in a decisive win for the Waikato East SubAssociation by 18 matches to 8. Some splendid tennis was witnessed. Miss Muriel Payton was too experienced for Miss N. Beverley, of Matamata, in the singles, but Misses N. and M. Beverley had too much combination against Misses M. Payton and Gieson in the doubles. Probably the best tennis of the day was the combined doubles between N. W. Smith and Miss M. Payton (Rotorua) and A. C. Thompson .and Miss N. Beverley (Waikato East), the latter pair eventually winning the last game after deuce had been called eight times on Miss Payton’s service. Miss Payton played particularly good tennis in this match. JMOKAI B v. TIRAU B. This match was played at Tirau on Saturday and resulted in a win for Tirau by 14 matches, 123 games, to 5 matches, 91 games. Tirau now jjlay the winners of the Northern Section (Matamata B) for the Macmillan Cup.
