PEDIGREE JERSEY SALE.
MR. H. E. WALTERS’ HERD. Top Price 205 Guineas. There was a large attendance of buyers at Mr. H. E. Walters’ dispersal sale of his pedigree Jersey herd at Spring-dale on Friday. In most cases the bidding was spirited up to a certain point, and two of the ciows were knocked down at three figures. These were Fox’s Freda, which topped the market at 205 guineas, and Mii-o Meadows Ruth, which was disposed of at 100 guineas. Morrinsville and Matamata buyers were operating freely, and several of the animals were sold to buyers from these two districts. Some of tire animals offered for sale were bred by Mr. R. Glynn Lewis, of Okoroire, and some of the bulls by Mr. A. J. Mouldey, of Tirau.
All the females were offered without reserve, but there was none on the bulls. Three of the cows remained unsold and the bidding for some of Die mature bulls did not reach the reserve.
