FIRES.

WHARE BURNED. On Saturday morning a fire destroyed a whare off Princes street in Putaruru, occupied by an employee of the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, named Lewis Wrigley. The outbreak was noticed shortly before nine in the morning, after Wrigley had to work. The door was quickly forced and several personal articles saved, but most of the contents of the building w r ere destroyed. The building itself was razed to the ground. OLD AGE PENSIONER’S LOSS. An old age pensioner named McClisky, who resided in a tent near the Avapuni turn-off to the dam site, was burned out on Friday morning, through the explosion of an oil stove. Mr. McClisky estimates his loss at about £2O, there being no insurance.
