FALL AT QUARRY.

WORKMAN’S ESCAPE. Hector Blain, a workman employed ill the quarry at Lichfield, had a narrow escape from serious injury on Friday, when he w*as precipitated from the top to the bottom of the * quarry, a distance of 30 feet. It appear that, following a blast, Blain went to the edge of the quarry to shake down the loosened rock, and apparently a previous explosion had loosened the rock much further back than w r as thought. This portion gave way and Blain fell with the rubble to the bottom of the quarry, luckily escaping* with very severe bruises.
