DAIRY FACTORY RETURNS.
DECEMBER FIGURES. Advance Payments Increased. The December factory returns of four dairy companies operating in the Morrinsville and Matamata districts show, in three cases, • decreased production when compared with the figures for the previous December. Comparing the figures with November of this season, it is seen that for three of the factories (the Morrinsville factories) December has been the best month for production this season, having exceeded November’s totals. The butterfat supplied to these factories for the past two months is given in the following table :
The advance payments made for the past month by the four factories under review show a considerable increase over those of the previous December and although the payments are made in three instances for smaller supplies, the total advances i.i each case exceed the totals for December, 1924, what has been lost in production being made up with better payments. Tatua’s total payment is a record monthly advance for that company. The figures for the past month for the Morrinsville, Norfolk, Tatua and Sunny Park factories are as follow, those for December, 1924, being given in parentheses : MORRINSVILLE. Butterfat, 143,542.81 b (148,504.61 b) ; payment at Is 3d (Is lid) per pound, £8725 5s lOd (£Blls 13s 7d). NORFOLK. Milk, 1,377,9151 b (1,404,5031 b) ; average test, 4.01 (4.02) ; butterfat, 55,355.31 b (56,517.21 b) ; payment at Is 5d (Is 2d) per pound, £3920 19s 9d (£3296 16s 8d). SUNNY PARK. Milk 1,9-21,0081 b (1,543,9851 b), test 3.56 (3.45), butterfat 60,421.41 b (53,331.91 b) ; cream 46,6411 b (83,7051 b), test 41.17 (39.73), butterfat 19,203.21 b (33,261.71 b) ; total butterfat 79,624.61 b (85,593.61 b) ; pay- : ment at, butter Is 3d (Is ltd) cheese Is 5d (Is 3d) per pound, £6046 13s 6d (£5200 18s lid). TATUA. Milk, 2,635,5841 b (2,153,0991 b) ; average test, 4 ; butterfat, 104,997.31 b: (82,175.81 b) ; payment at Is 6d (Is; sd) per pound, £7910 13s 7d (£4202 11s 4d).
