PUTARURU v. LICHFIELD. The Putaruru and Lichfield teams played the return game at Lichfield, and this time the visitors, with a stronger side, turned the tables and secured the honours by a margin of 65 runs. Dukeson made a very welcome re-appearance for Putaruru, and signalised his return by collecting 30 runs in the first innings out of 47, and by notching 24 in the second innings. Strong hopes are being entertained that this solid' batsman will be available for at least some of the competition games in the second round.

For Lichfield, Dunn (14) was the only batsman to secure double figures in either innings. The detailed scores are as follows: LICHFIELD.—First Innings.
