TE WHETU.

CONCERT AND DANCE. A concert and dance was held in the South Taranaki Hall by the Young Maori Party on Saturday night, March 29. The hall was specially decorated for the occasion. r lhe opening chorus was Hie singing of' “ Po-Atarau,” or “ Rongonui’s Adventures in the Moonlight.” Maori hakas, melodies, songs and various other items followed. A prize given by the party for the most tickets sold was won by Miss M. Butler. On behalf of the party Mr. T. I). Reweti presented the winner with the prize. Dancing commenced at 10.30 p.m. To the delight of everyone an appetising supper was provided. The party owes thanks to Mesdames Dobson and O’Brien for the able manner in which they assisted with the arrangements, and the party gave three cheers to the young ladies of Te Whetu who assisted them in disposing of the tickets. The nett proceeds of the entertainment went to the South Taranaki Hall funds.
