POWER FOR FARMERS.

SHUTDOWN AT EASTER

Power Board’s Suggestions.

In connection with the proposed shut down from April 18 to 21 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Public Works Department has advised the Thames Valley Electric Power Board that standing supply would be given at the Waikino sub-station, but it would be necessary for the consumers of power from that station to reduce their load to a minimum. As the following Friday was Anzac Day it would suit the Department to shut down from April 25 to 27 from 6 a.m. to G p.m. An expression of opinion from the Board was asked for.

It was reported that the Board had Witten to the Department stating that it would be more suitable for the farmers in the district if the hours for the shut down were from 7 a.m. till 4 p.m. during the two periods suggested.
