SCHOOL PICNIC.

ARRANGED FOR MARCH 29. The meeting of the public to arrange a picnic for the Putaruru school was held in the school on Friday evening. The attendance numbered about 18 persons, over whom Mr. A. I?.. Vosper presided. It was resolved that the picnic be held on Saturday, March 29, on the Arapuni estate, Putaruru, car-owners to be invited to convey the children thither frpm the post office between 9.30 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. It was decided that all present constitute a committee to further the arrangements, and Mrs. J. Rolfe was elected secretary for the picnic. The chairman and secretary, Me--dames Murphy and Begbie, Messrs. John Martin, R. Martin and A. V. Cosslett were appointed an executive. The next meeting of the full committee is being held on Monday evening.
