Mr. N. G. McLeod, at present of the firm of Gauvain and McLeod (engineers to the Thames Valley Electric Power Board), was at Tuesday’s meeting of the Board appointed its resident engineer, his duties to commence from February 6. The parched brown appearance of the pastures in the country and the verdant green of the lawns in the town are a violent contrast. One has only to walk through the streets of the' town during the evenings to ascertain the cause of the flourishing nature of the lawns. Hoses are going at full pressure and occasional!}’ tbe -s pedestrian has to “ watch his step ”or - / he will be included in the portion of the landscape which is receiving' the sprinkling. With all these vents there has as yet been no complaint from the municipal authorities regarding a S.hprtage of water for the town supply and it is fortunate for tbe possessors cf lawns that MorriAsville is assured of a -water supply for a town several times as large.
