Mail Services.
As the new contracts for mail services will shortly be called for, we might point out to the Department that it would be a great improvement to the district if the coach service was triweekly between Blenheim and Nelson. As the present contractors bring a, mail every Wednesday from Blenheim it would only mean the difference in connecting Havelock with Nelson on, that .day ' to. make the‘cbinpletei. service, and we are of opinion the, extra cost would be very little, at any fate; alternate tenders might be called for the tri-weekly service, leaving Blenheim Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and a bi-weekly service, leaving Blenheim on Tuesdays and Fridays between the termini mentioned, for at present we can only get a letter written after 10 a.m. on Monday to reach Nelson from Havelock on the Saturday.
