EXTRAORDINARY SCENE IN A CHAPEL.

An extraordinary scene was witnessed recently at the Wesleyan Chapel, Sherwood, Nottingham. The preacher mado an attack upon persons engaged in the liquor traffic, and, referring to the erection in the immediate vicinity of the chapel of almshouses by Mr John Robinson (Sheriff of Nottingham, and a big local brewer), said that Mr Robinson ought to atone for the mischief caused by his business. Thereupon Mr James Shipsfcone, another brewer, a member of the congregation, rose and publicly protested against the remarks of the preacher, amidst considerable excitement. ;
