THE YOUNG SPANISH KING.

A lady who has been travelling in Spain sends the following interesting account of a visit which she paid to the Queen Regent and the young King. “After insisting upon our taking tea, we were led into the nest room, where we found his Spanish Majesty in a rather soiled white frock, sprawling upon the floor. As he did not rise when we came in his Royal mother spoke very sharply to him, and he presently got up and made us a very civil sort of bow. We spoke to him in Spanish, which he answered very readily, and then we ventured upon a few words of English, which he understood perfectly.”
