[Per United Press Association.) Wellington, October 7. Informations have been laid against the Chairman of the Early Closing Association for holding demonstrations in front of the non-closing draper’s shop. At a public meeting last night it was decided to form a Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. His Excellency the Governor presided. Waimate, October 7. As a step towards the abatement of the dog nuisance, the Waimate County Council has resolved to request the member for the district to embody a clause in the new Dog Registration Bill at present before Parliament, making it imperative on every landowner or dog-owner to make a return not oftener than once in six months of all dogs kept by himself or others upon his property, and on failure, in making this return to be liable to payment of a fine, and has instructed its Clerk to write to all other County Councils requesting their co-operation.
