The Napier Hospital.

THE GOVERNMENT IGNORE THE COMMITTEE. [Own Correspondent.] Napier, September 23. The Government seem determined to show that, as they maintain the hospital, they will also control its management. For some time the hospital committee have been advertising for a resident surgeon. Ignoring this the Government have suddenly appointed Dr. Fisher, late medical officer of the Aorangi, to be resident surgeon, and now an intimation has been received from Wellington that the committee need not trouble about appointing a secretary, and it is surmised the Government will appoint a person to be house-steward and secretary.
