[Reuter’s Telegrams] . Melbourne, September 16. Sailed this afternoon Union Steamship Tarawera, from the Bluff. Sydney, September 17. Further cases of small-pox have occurred in Kent Street, in the heart of the city. Eight persons have been placed in quarantine. It has transpired that Government has given notice to the Pacific Mail Company to terminate the San Francisco Mail Contract in November next, but that the service will be continued for the full term of two years, until November, 1885.
