The Napier Rowing Rowing Club held its annual meeting on the 21st instant. In the absence of Mr. J. Gilberd, Mr. A. F. Kennedy, deputy-captain, occupied the chair. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted ; the latter showed assets £450, with no outstanding liabilities. The Wanganui Jockey Club will hold its spring meeting on the Prince of Wales’ Birthday. A good programme has been prepared and published, the principal event being the Wanganui Stakes Handicap of 150 sovs. The Wairarapa Jockey Club’s spring meeting will be held at Tauherenikau, on the 7th November next. The events are as follows— Spring Maiden Stakes, of 50sovs; Handicap Steeplechase, of lOOsovs ; Birthday Handicap, of lOOsovs; Maiden Steeplechase, of 50 sovs; Spring Handicap, of 50sovs, and a hack race.
