The reconstruction of the Tasmanian Ministry, rendered necessary by the resignation of the Hon. W. R. Giblin, has Inen effected by Mr. Douglas, and the portfolios have been allotted as follows:—Premier and Colonial Secretary, Mr. Douglas; Colonial Treasurer, Mr. Burgess; Attorney-General, Mr. Dodds; Minister for Lands and Works, Mr. Brown. Sydney, August 20. Arrived—Tarawera, yesterday. The proposals to be submitted by Government for the extension of the railway system of the colony include the construction of 600 miles of new lines and a plan for light railways over level plains.
