Enormous Landslip in Auckland.

BOAD BLOCKED FOB THREE MILES. [Per Press Association.] Auckland, August 16. An enormous landslip occurred at Emily Place excavations last evening, as the result of heavy rain. The men were just leaving work when some pieces fell from the cliffs and they ran for their lives. Five hundred to one thousand yards fell, burying the drays and killing one horse. The driver escaped. The beach road is blocked for three miles, and traffic is stopped. Fortunately none of the numerous ’busses were passing at the time, or there would have been a serious loss of life; or had the fall of the cliffs occurred earlier few of the working party at the east side could have escaped instantaneous death.
