Accidents and Offences.
TWO MEN LOST. (Per Press Association.) Auckland, August 6. A recent arrival from England, named J. Barlow, was killed by being thrown from his horse on the Onehunga Road yesternight. He had been riding in company with a barmaid named Agnes Wybar. Christchurch, August 6. The Church Parsonage, occupied by the Rev. Dr. Taylor, took fire to-day, but was extinguished before much damage had been done. A two-roomed cottage in Hereford Street, near the East Belt, the property of E. S. Shailer, has been burnt. Insured in the Australian Mercantile and Union for £5O. Nelson, August 6. George Moonlight and another man have been out prospecting for 21 days between Lake Roitoi and Motupipo, without having been heard of. Grave fears are now entertained, and search parties are out, but no news has been received.
