(reuter’s telegrams.) CRICKET.—AUSTRALIANS V. MIDLAND COUNTIES. London, May 26. The Australian cricketers played a match to-clay at Birmingham, against an 11 of the Midland Counties, the latter went in first and scored 82, the bowling of Spoffoith doing great execution, and there was a bumpy wicket. The Australians then went in, but only succeeded in putting together 76 runs, or 6 behind their opponents. The latter in their second innings were all disposed of for 26, leaving the Australians 33 to get to win, they obtained the required number with the loss of 6 wickets, thus winning the match by 4 wickets. The weather was fine and there was a good attendance of spectators. Spofforth in the first innings took 6 wickets for 30 runs, and in the second, secured 7 wickets for 3 runs.
