The Oriental Bank Corporation, which suspended payment on the 3rd inst., was compelled to adopt this course in consequence of rapid and unexpected withdrawals of deposits at its Eastern branches. The examination, which has been already made of the available assets, show that the depositors will probably receive 17s. 6d. in the pound, and in the meanwhile a liquidator will undertake the management of the company’s estates in the Mauritius.
