The associated banks have decided not to cash notes of the Oriental Bank Corporation, now in circulation in the colony. A petition has been lodged in the Supreme Court Victoria, for winding up the local affairs of the Oriental Bank Corporation. CAPTAIN LOCKYER, It has now transpired, in connection with Captain Lockyer, of the steamship Adelaide, that he delivered up his mate’s certificate, and shipped at Adelaide as purser, but really to act as commander. FOUNDERING OF A STEAMER. Sydney, May 6. Intelligence has been received that the steamer India, bound from Newcastle to Lyttleton, has foundered at sea. The crew were saved.
