The case of small-pox which occurred on board the P. and O. steamship Rome, from London, was found to be of a mild character. The patient is now convalescent. Melbourne, April 10. Numerous valedictory addresses to the Marquis of Normanby are now in course of preparation here and at other towns in the colony. Commotion was seriously injured internally while galloping at Randwick this morning, and it is considered improbable that he will start for the Sydney Cup.
THE LIBEL CASE. Brisbane, April 10. The trial of the Brisbane Courier for the publication of alleged libels upon members of the Legislative Assembly, in an article commenting upon the proceedings at Election and Qualifications Committre, was concluded to-day. The jury returned a unanimous verdict of not guilty.
