(reuter’s telegrams.) London, April 9. Arrived—Steamship Bombay, from Wellington (February 15). Her cargo of frozen mutton is believed to be in good condition. The wool market is quiet. Arrivals to date for next auctions amount to 220,000 bales. The Doric’s cargo of frozen mutton arrived in good condition. The first portion was sold yesterday at 6d. to 6|d. per lb. THE EGYPTIAN DIFFICULTY. In the House of Commons, on the Bth in st., Mr. Gladstone, in reply to a question, stated that the Government had not yet decided what course to puisne in regard to the disputes which have arisen between Nubar Pasha (the Egyptian Minister) and Mr. Clifford Lloyd. MUNICIPAL REFORM. In the House of Commons yesterday, the London Municipal Reform Bill, which was announced in the Queen’s speech, was introduced and read a first time. The measure provides for the extension of the City Corporation so as to embrace the whole of the metropolitan area. The office of Lord Mayor will be retained, but the Court of Aidermen is to be abolished. The House of Commons adjourned to-day for the Easter recess. The Right Hon. John Bright is now better, the severity of the congestion of his lungs having abated. It has transpired that the Queen proceeds to Germany under medical advice, her physicians having stated her Majesty’s health requires her to take a change. April 10. The cargo of frozen mutton, comprising 3,524 carcases, per steamship Garonne, has been examined, and its condition is considered doubtful. The reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England to-day is £15,000,000 being £400,000 less than the reserve last Thursday. The proportion reserve to liabilities have advanced from 44 to 46 per cent. The bank rate discount remains at 2j, and the market rate 2 per cent. Consols remain unchanged at 102 J, and New Zealand Securities at last quotations. Wheat and tallow markets are without quotable change. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 2,000,000 quarters, an increase of 46,000 quarters during the week. Holidays will be observed in the London Markets until Tuesday next. THE MINISTERIAL DISPUTE. Cairo, April 10. The difficulty which has arisen between Nubar Pasha, President of the Council of Ministers, and Clifford Lloyd, Under-Secretary for the Home Department, has been amicably arranged. Nubar Pasha has withdrawn his resignation, and both will remain in office.
