(FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) NAPIER, Monday. A telegram has been received from the Agent-General, slating that the design of W. W. Culcheth, Esq., of Hawthorne, Melbourne, have been selected* as the most suitable for the proposed new Harbor works. The Board telegraphed to Mr Culcheth for a copy of the designs, &c., which are expected to arrive on Saturday week. Mr W. The Jury found that death proceeded from deceased having accidentally poisoned himself. At the inpuest on the bodies of Mr and Mrs Stephenson, the jury brought in a verdict to the effect that the deceased persons met their death by the explosion of a dynnmite cartridge, fired by George Timothy Stephenson, but there was no evidence to show the state of mind deceased was in when he fired the cartridge. AUCKLAND, Monday. A boy eight years of age was so illtreated by larrikins, that the doctors thought lockjaw would supervene, though his condition has since improved. A man, believed to be an employee of the Sugar Company, was accidentally drowned by falling overboard from the Northcote ferry steamer on Saturday afternoon. The City Council have offered a reward of £5O for the discovery of the person who cut the hose at the late fire. Dessructive floods at Coromandel have washed away, or badly damaged, all the bridges.
