MATOS FOR 450 A-SIDS. (From our own ) .NAPIER, Monday. A match wm run at Hastings on Saturday last between Mr J. Connolly ■ Dhudeen and Mr P. Martin’s Fashion for £5O a-side, each horse carrying 12st 91b, distance two miles, over the Steeplechase course. Dhudeen jumped off with the lead and waa never passed, winning easily by six lengths. Dhudeen was afterwards sola for £BO. OSRISTO3TOOS SPRING MEETING CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. At a meeting of the Canterbury Jockey Club the programme for the next season waa decidea upon. The days fixed for the spring-meeting are the 6th, 7>h, and Bth November. The New Zealand Cup is to be run on the first day, the Derby on the second day, and the Canterbury Cup on the third day. The new races introduced are a Hunter’s Flat Race ; a Handicap of 100 Bovg, two miles ; a Spring Steeplechase Handicap of 150 sovs, about three mile ; the Stewards’ Stakes Handicap of 250 sovg added, six furlongs; and a Handicap Steeplechase of 100 sovs, two miles. The total added money at the Spring Meeting is £3,650, and for the New Year’s Day Meeting £920 is given.
