[united press association.] WELLINGTON, Yesterday. A supplementary Gazette, issued to-night, further prorogues Parliament to the 15th May next. The Primary School Commission of Otago, proposed to try the leasing system, and have agreed, that of a block of 20,000 acres in the Winton and Waikaia districts, one-third should be leMed on perpetual system, onethird on deferred payment, and the remainder by CMh sales. This land is Mid te be some of the finest agricultural land in Otago. The steamer Wakatlpu arrived from Sydney at 5.30. Off Stephen’s Island a spar of a vessel wm passed, but could not be made out whether belonging to a large or small vessel. The Hon. Mr Bryce left Auckland to-day, on his way to Taranaki through the King country, Owing to the heavy rain* which have caused floods in the rivers, Mr Bryoe believes that he will be detained at Alexandra for a day or two. The journey to Waiters will take five days, after which Mr Bryce will proceed to Wanganui, remaining a few days, and then he will visit Parihaka and the neighboring settlemqyts, returning to Wellington about the end of the present month.
