Sir,—Can you inform the burgesses if it be true that Mr Allan McDonald (our Member) wrote to the Minister of Marine requesting him not to hand over the Foreshore to the Gisborne Harbour Board, till such time as Common, Shelton and Co's, demand was satisfied, and if so, what were his grounds for so doing, or if so, is it furthering the interests of the Borough I think Mr McDonald would do well to reply also. lam &c., Bvrgesb. [We are unable to supply the information, but as the statement has gone forth, we are of opinion that Mr McDonald should inform the public, whether he did, or did not, interfere in the matter. —Ed, P.8.8.J
