Mr S. M. Wilaon. the popular proprietor of the Albion Club Hotel, announces that he has, by request, permitted himself to be nominated for the office of Councillor for the Borough of Gisborne, and promises that should he be returned he will du his best to faithfully represent all classes of the community without parlialiiy. We were exceedingly pleased to hear today that there is a probability of the Battery J Bund failing to become a thing of the past as it would be a great pity if after having attained their present efficiency, under the careful instruction of Mr T. Fa ram they became disbanded.
