(BY CABLE.-—REUTER’S TELEGRAMS). SYDNEY, Dec. 18. The Union Company’s steamship To Anau arrived this morning from Auckland. Mr J. S. Farrell, who was rejected at the election for Paramatta has been returned for the Now England district, the election for which was held at Armidale on Saturday. It is understood that Mr W. B. Dailey, a well-known barrister, will offer himself as a candidate for the East Sydney Constituency, the vacancy having occurred by tlie resignation of Mr J. Mcllhone, who will sit in the Legislative Assembly for the Upper Hunter District.
