The Trust Commissioner’s Court to-day, occupied but little time, as little or no business was transacted. Mr Robinson was the only legal gentleman present. All the cases were adjourned, one of them being put off until Christmas Day, a rather singular time to select. In the application re the Whataupoko, which has so long been disputed between Mr Rees, Wi Pere, and Riperata Kahutia as trustees, and Mr Gannon, Mr Price decided that the dispute should go to the Court of Appeal. Very seldom has Poverty Bay been graced with so many vessels as were to be seen in the port yesterday. The Lochnagar and six schooners, exclusive of our local boats, were in the Bay and river, giving an aspect of a shipping importance to the port somewhat unusual.
The number of children attending the Napier district school has reached the significant figures of 619.
