We congratulate the Borough Council on having obtained the consent of Mr. R. Hill Fisher to coine forward as a candidate for the suffrages of Burgesses at the forthcoming duction. Without a shadow of doubt Mr Fisher would be a most useful member of the Borough Council. His well kown business capacities eminently qualify him for such a post, where the advice and interest of a gentleman, uho is a shrewd accountant, and has an extensive knowledge of business must necessarily be invaluable. We also heard a rumour that Mr Carlaw Smith would probably present himself for election. If that is correct we shall feel sure that, with the introduction of a new element into the Council, the wants of the Borough will receive more acute attention and more of it,
