The rehearsal last night for the concert to be held on the evening of the 9th was most successful. The performers gave individual evidence of their merits, and even from the few assembled elicited applause. Under the circumstances it would be unwise to mention names, but in the songs and dances and in the farce it was clearly to be seen that on race night a great treat may be expected. We were pleased to notice that a piano of really good tone had been secured. Mr O'Hare and Mr Crawford coached those who are going to take part, and did so most successfully. Attention is called to the fact in our advertising columns that tenders for the Ormond and Waiapu bridle-track will be received up to 10 o’clock in the forenoon of Saturday, the 11 th instant. For particulars wc refer our readers to the advertisement.
