(reuter’s telegrams.) LONDON, Oct. 23. Consols remain at 101 and New Zealand loans at last quotations. The market for Colonial wheat is quiet, but firm at 49s for Adelaide wheat, ex store, and 43s to 46s for New Zealand ditto. Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 345. Australian tallow is quiet. Best mutton, 46s : best beef, 43s 6d. Telegrams are to hand from Manilla announcing that a terrific cyclone has been experienced in the Phillipine Islands. The greater portion of the town of Manilla has been completely destroyed. VIENNA, Oct. 23. A serious riot occurred at Belgrade, in the course of which King Milan, of Servia, while in the cathedral in that city, was fired on by a rioter who attempted his assassination. He was, however, unsuccessful, and the man, whose name is Markowich, was at once arrested. COLOMBO, October 24. The P. and 0. steamship Peshawur having been thoroughly repaired and surveyed, left here this morning, for Melbourne. The Hon. Ivo Bligh’s team of English cricketers are passengers by Peshawur.
