BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—(COPYRIGHT) (REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.) SYDNEY, Oct. 13. The strike among the Newcastle colliers has terminated, the masters having at length consented to yield the 3d per hour demanded by the men.
MELBOURNE, October 13. The Royal Commission appointed to inquire into the organisation and working of the Victorian Police Force has concluded its sittings. The Commissioners in their report recommended that Sub-Inspector Larner and Superintendent Winch be called upon to resign their appointments.
