Harry Honor, Tartar’s trainer is now laid up, he is suffering from bronchitis, There is plentj’ of wagering going on. The most fancied are—Hurdles, Morning Star ; Spring Handicap, Louie : H.B. Guineas, Te Ata ; Flying Stakes, Mischief. for ths C-J.C. Handicap. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Gorton and Trinket have been scratched for the Christchurch Jockey Club Handicap. Go*as you«please Handicap. An 8 hours go-as-you-please handicap took place at the drill shed on Saturday last and was won by O’Connor, the scratch man, who gave some of his opponents one hours start. O’Connor in 7 hours covered 45J miles. Cassacks, the 2nd man, 45 3-sth miles in 7A hours. Bull the 3rd, 38 l-sth miles in 7 hourlb 34 minutes.
