R.M.’s Court, Gisborne.
Friday, 12th May. [Before M. Price, Esq., R.M.] Davies v. Southern Cross Petroleum Co. This was a claim for £97 Bs, damages arising from breach of contract by defendants. Mr Finn for plaintiff; Mr McDougall for defendant. Mr McDougall pleaded not indebted. Mr Finn opened the case, which was a lengthy one involving innch legal argument, and going deeply into the question of accounts. Our space does not permit us to give a full report of the proceedings. After a patient and lengthy hearing and a careful summing up, His Worship gave judgment for plaintiff, £42 8s Bd, with costs £4 10s. There was some minor civil business transacted and the Court adjourned.
