Mr Allan McDonald, M.H.R., does not leave for Wellington until this day week. Mr D. Page, of the Masonic Hotel, advertises that he will give a reward of £5 for such information as will lead to the conviction of the person or persons who wantonly destroyed chairs and other furniture in his hotel. The Union Company’s steamer Rotomahana. Capt. Underwood, arrived in the roadstead yesterday afternoon. Several passengers for southern ports, among whom was Sir George Grey, K.C.8., wisely remained on board to avoid the risk of being left behind. The steamer was advertised to leave yesterday evening, but the sea running high and the bar being risky, p?evented the passengers from mia k ng.
