[From our own CorbbspondkxtsJ. New Plymouth, May 3. Tn the Supreme Court to-day Mary Jane O’Sullivan was found guilty of concealment of childbirth, and sentenced to twelve months’ imprisonment. Wirema Hiroki was brought up charged with the murder of John McLean at Momohake, 1878. Mr Samuel appeared for the Crown and Mr Richmond for the prisoner. Nelson, May 3. Dodson who shot himself on Saturday last, died in the hospital this morning. Wellington, May 3. Captain Ruck, formerly of Auckland, died in Masterton Hospital last night. An inquest was held at Masterton on Monday on the charred remains of Smith, his wife, and two children, who were burnt to death at Whareama. Jury returned an open verdiet. A skull supposed to be Smith’s was found, but his wife’s skull is missing. Auckland, May 3.

The party will invoke the aid of the Aborigines’ Protection Society and the Wesleyan Missionary Societies in their misvion petition to the Queen, which complains of a breach of the Treaty of Waitonga
