[From our own Correspondents]. Disastrous Explosion. London, Dec. 19. A disastrous explosion of fire-damp occurred to-day, at the Abram colliery, near Wigan, Lancashire. All the miners, except forty, have been rescued, the mortality, therefore, is less than was at first expected. Ladies’ Land League Declared Illegal. A proclamation has been issued by the Irish Executive, declaring the Ladies’ Land League an illegal organisation. A False Prophet.—3oo Negroes Massacred. Intelligence from Africa states that a false prophet in Soudan collected 2,600 Negro fanatics, and then caused 300 of them to be massacred in cold blood, the rest succeeded in eseaping. Cricket Match.—English Eleven Victorious. Melbourne, Dec. 20. The Cricket match, English Teatn v. Viotoria Eleverf’, was concluded to-day ; great excitement prevailed, the English Team winning by 1« runs. Boores —English, Ist innings, 146; 2nd. 198. Australians, Ist innings, 247 ; 2nd, 75.
