[From oub own CorrespondentJ. London, Sept. 14. Obituary :—General Lord Airey G.C.B aged 78. Russian and German official newspapers are almost unanimous in declaring that the meetings which took place last month at Gastein, between the Emperors of Germany & Austria, and recently at Dautzic between the Czar and the Emperor William, testify fully to the reunion of the three Emperors, and afford a guarantee of European peace. New Zealand securities remain unchanged at following quotations : 5 per cent 10.'40 loan 102 f; loan 1889, 1021 41 per cent ; 1879 1904 loan 991. Constantinople, Sept, 14. It is now announced that the Porte has decided to abandon the intention of appointing a commission to enquire into the recent military outbreak in Egypt. Alexandria, Sept. 14. Cherif Pasha, President of the Council of Ministers, has issued a manifesto setting forth a programme of the reforms proposed to be carried out in Egypt. The manifesto suggests that the present Europea,n control of Egyptian financial arrangements should be maintained. The Khedive has expressed his approval of the ministerial programme.
