Gisborne Rowing Club
Owing to the resignation of the late captain, the following new elections have taken place in the executive of the (t.R.C. Mr W. Ratcliffe Captain, Mr E. H. Pavitt Secretary, Mr C. A. Tabuteau , Treasurer. Several new members have been elected, and a general revival has taken place. The club having laid dormant for such a length of time, it is pleasing to see that the members are able to arise to the occasion, and push matters into a better groove.
To-day will be rowed the scratch match between trial fours, the selection of pairs for the first two heats is as follows : — First Heat, “ Undine.” — Ratcliffe, stroke ; Balneavis, 3 ; Parau, 2; A. O’Meara, bow; F. O’Meara, cox. First Heat, “ Mermaid.” —Tabuteau,'stroke; E. H. Pavitt, 3; Cresswell, 2 ; P. O’Meara, bow, H. Hamlin, cox. Second Heat, “Undine.”—E. A. Pavitt, stroke ; J. White, 3 ; Mountfort, 2; E. Brown, bow ; F. Teat, cox. Second Heat, “ Mermaid.” —G-. Huddleston, stroke; J. Carroll, 3; Rosie, 2 ; C. Ward, bow ; Williams, cox. The competitors for the final heat will be the two winning crews in the first and second heat who will compete for first place.
