CRICKET.
A meeting of those desirous of form ing a Cricket Club was held at the Mosouie Hotel' on Saturday evening last, Mr. C. M. Ollivier in the chair. There was a good attendance; sixteen gentlemen subscribed their names, and the following resolutions were passe 1: — Proposed by Captain Porter, seconded by Mr. Ferris— That the gentlemen present do enrol their names as desirous of becoming members of a Cricket Club, should a suitable piece ofqground be acquired for the purpose of play. Proposed by Mr. Butt, seconded by Captain Porter— That Messrs. Ferris, Thehrtll, and Crawford be a Committee for obtaining a piece of ground for cricketing. Proposed by Captain Porter, seconded by Mr. Bbown— That this meeting do adjourn till this dw week,’ for the purpose of receiving the report of the Committee, with regard to acquiring the land. The usual ceremonial closed the meeting.
