A LONG BICYCLE RIDE.

Mr Fitton, of Fitton and Service, Auckland, rode from Auckland to Maslerton on a bicycle. He intended to ride to Wellington, but on reaching Masterton two of the spokes gave out, and he had to come to Wellington by train to have it repaired, as he did not think the machine would stand going over the Rimutakn. He left by train for Feathorston on Wednesday morning, and intended to leave Featherston next morning and ride to New Plymouth, and take a steamer thence to Auckland. He left Auckland on Christmas Day, and came into Wellington on Monday night.
