SUCCESSFUL FLOATING OF THE TRIUMPH.

Telegrams to hand from Auckland inform ns of the successful floating of the Triumph. This morning we received the following message ; AUCKLAND, Midnight. The Triumph has not yet arrived. Four steamers are now with her in the Gulf towing her up stern foremost, viz, the Wailaki, Glenelg, Rotomnhana and McGregor. The following news has been received from the Triumph of the floating operations. The hatches were battened down, steam was got up, and the water pumped out, when at high water sho floated off. A gale rising, her hawsers parted, and at one time it was feared sho would drift on to Shearer Rock. The men were working up to their waist in water in the stokehole, and owing to the list of the vessel, it was difficult to pump her. At one time, fears were entertained for the lives of all on board, but Mr Fisher, engineer of the Triumph dived to the door of compartment No. 2, and let the water into it, which rendered the vessel more stable and equable. The Triumph at last got to the lee of Tiritiri, where desperate efforts were made to keep the water under till the steam tugs signalled for arrived, and steps could be taken to reduce the water in the stokehole, which threatened to put ont the fire. On the steamer arriving the worst was over. The Triumph is expected in harbour in the morning. All engaged on board deserve "great praise for their courage.
