PAINFUL ACCIDENT.

We (Chronicle ) regret to have to record a painful and serious accident which happened to Miss Minnie Mailman on Monday afternoon. She was getting out of a trap at Mr Huffs door, in the Avenue, when her dress caught the wheel, and she fell to the ground, her head coming into violent contact with the tire. Her face was much cut and bruised, and her nose broken, and the shock was so severe that it is feared her brain has been affected. Miss Mailman lies at her father’s house in Harrison street in a partially unconscious state, and the worst consequences are feared from her present precarious condition. In any case her face will be permanently disfigured.
