KAKARAMEA.
At 1 well attended public meeting held on Saturday, it was resolved to hold sports on Boxing D.ij'. After the reading of balance-sheet for last year, which showed £9 17s 6d to the good, t lie following were elected as a committee for this year;— Messrs S, Clover (chairman), Wilson, Brociie, Wood, Robb, Aldridge, A. Pearce, O’Sullivan, Brown, Shears, O’Dea, and E. Payne, Secretary.. Resolved, that instead of canvassing for subscriptions as was done last year, family tickets at 10sand5s be procured and sold by the committee. Resolved also that the gate be kept by the committee and that (ho offers of Mr J. O’Sullivan, £5, and Mr R. T. Brodie, £2, for refreshment booths be accepted. The secretary was authorised to sell the right of games on I lie grounds. The great interest shown by the local people at the meeting augers well for the success of the sports if the weather prove favourable.
